Some Outdoor Toys Every Child Should Have

Playing outdoors isn't something like it used to be before. That's because these days, technology seems to have gotten the better of little boys and girls since these modern gadgets and devices are sometimes more enjoyable, more entertaining and less physically demanding than those of the outdoor games that used to be child favorites from not too long ago.

So as parents, what can we do to help them encourage to play outdoors once again? Well for starters, we must first need to change their perception of what it means to play outside their homes and on the street, in the park or even just in the back yard. How do we do that? It's quite easy actually; all you need to have are a couple of these outdoor toys and a whole lot of enthusiasm so your kid would have a change of heart as far as playing outdoors is concerned.

1. A bicycle

This, quite obviously, is a child's favorite as far as bipeds are concerned. That's because he can go distances near and far with this thing depending on how physically fit he may be.

Every child's first taste of freedom should be something that your son should have too. That's because there's no other feeling you could trade for the wind in your hair and the sun on your skin when you ride your bike.

2. A baseball

Have you ever taken the time to go outside your home, perhaps in your front yard to spend some quality time with your kid? Playing catch with a baseball and a couple of baseball mitts are all you need for you to get your kid to go outside and get a feel for a throwing arm. Who knows, even by just doing something this simple and fun could mean that your child might actually have the potential to make it into the little league, then the school varsity and possibly even the pros if he's got the talent.

3. A Frisbee

Who doesn't love to throw around a disc shaped toy that hovers around the air like it's a flying saucer? Thanks to its bright colors, fast rotation and a rather slow movement when it glides through the air, it's something that really catches your kids eye and would also entice him to go on and catch it so he could be the next one to throw it.

4. A pair of roller blades

Okay it's no bicycle, but it allows your kid to spend a little bit more time outdoors if they did have a pair of roller blades to skate on. It could be just around the neighborhood or even just your block or street. This would already prove to be quite fun and entertaining for your kid.

Make sure however, that he has a pair of protective gear on in case he falls or something. The risk of injury in rollerblading is quite higher than that of riding a bicycle. Oh, and a word of advice, do not let your kid watch the x-games or if they do, tell them not to follow suit since they will most likely get in an accident.
